What is the benefit of a portafilter holder if I tamp on the table?
Tamping on the table leaves the handle tilted, making one side of the puck deeper and causing water to pass through the weaker side. The holder keeps the basket level and moves the spout away from the surface.
Does it fit a bottomless portafilter?
Yes. The basket rests on its rim rather than on the spout, so it fits bottomless portafilters as well as single- and double-spout portafilters, as long as the size is between 51 and 58 mm.
