Three features that make a difference
40x optical zoom
True optical zoom, not digital, so the image gets larger without losing clarity. Capture distant details that would otherwise require a separate telephoto lens at a much higher price.
20.3-megapixel sensor and 4K video
A 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor for photos and 4K video recording for content creation. RAW format support is also included for those who like to edit their photos themselves after shooting.
Flip-up screen
The tilting LCD screen makes it easier to film yourself or shoot from low angles, with Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth for transferring photos to your phone and sharing them directly.
Where it fits and where it doesn’t
Suitability for each use
Before you order
The accessories are included with the camera in both colors: the battery, charger, memory card, wrist strap, mini tripod, and protective case are all in the box with no separate order required. This is a high-demand product, so its delivery time is longer than usual and the trending-products delivery timeframe applies. Keep that in mind if you need it for an upcoming event.

Where this camera really works
Travel companion
Its compact size and light weight fit in a jacket pocket or a small bag pocket, while the 40x zoom eliminates the need to carry a telephoto lens. The included protective case keeps it safe inside your bag.
Events and gatherings
The optical zoom lets you shoot from where you are without moving closer and interrupting the moment, while optical image stabilization reduces hand shake in distant shots.
Content creation
4K video and a flip-up screen let you see yourself while recording, while the included tripod keeps the camera steady on a table instead of requiring you to hold it.

To be honest
There’s one point worth clarifying: this is a compact camera with a fixed lens, not a professional interchangeable-lens camera. If you do studio work or professional wedding photography, your needs are different. But if you want one camera for travel, events, and content creation with powerful zoom in a pocket-sized body, it’s exactly the right fit.
Questions people ask before ordering
Are the accessories included, or do I buy them separately?
They’re included with the order. The box contains the camera, a rechargeable battery with its charger, a SanDisk memory card, a wrist strap, a mini tripod, and a protective fabric case. You don’t need to order anything extra.
Is the 40x zoom optical or digital?
Optical. The zoom is achieved by moving the lens itself rather than enlarging the image digitally, so details remain clear at maximum zoom. That’s the key difference from digital zoom on phones.
Are the accessories different between the black and silver versions?
No, both colors come with the same accessories. The only difference is the color.
Does it record 4K video?
Yes. The camera supports 4K video recording, with a tilting screen that makes it easier to monitor the frame while filming yourself.
How do I transfer photos to my phone?
Via Wi-Fi, NFC, or Bluetooth. Connect the camera to the Canon app on your phone once, then transfer photos and videos directly without a cable or memory card reader.
How do I care for the camera and lens?
Clean the lens with a lens-dedicated microfiber cloth and an air blower to remove dust before wiping. Avoid ordinary paper tissues, as they can scratch the coating.
Store the camera in the included case in a dry place away from direct heat. Remove the battery if you’ll leave it unused for a long time, and avoid exposing the lens to sand and splashes.
