Product description
Timemore Chestnut Manual Coffee GrinderFive models in one order: C2S, C3S, C3 ESP, C5, and C5 ESP, in four colors
If you’re looking for a manual coffee grinder that gives you a consistent grind for V60 and espresso without paying the price of an electric grinder, Timemore’s Chestnut series is the name that keeps coming up in every specialty coffee discussion in Saudi Arabia. Conical burrs made of stainless steel, an aluminum body built to last for years, and clear adjustment rings let you switch between pour-over and espresso with a simple turn. Choose the model and color from the menu, and every grinder comes with a cleaning brush, storage pouch, and air blower.
Why does a manual grinder make a difference to the flavor?
Pre-ground coffee loses its aroma within minutes of grinding, while cheap grinders with spinning blades break the beans into random sizes, making the coffee taste bitter and sour in the same cup. The conical burrs in Timemore grinders cut the beans into a consistent size, which is what gives you a clean V60 cup and a balanced espresso shot. You’ll notice the difference from the first cup, not after a month.
The difference between Chestnut models in one table
C2S: The right starting point
38 mm steel burrs and an aluminum body with a foldable handle. Ideal for V60, French press, and Chemex, and the most affordable model in the series for anyone starting out with specialty coffee.
C3S and C3 ESP: The best sellers
The upgraded S2C 660 burrs grind faster and more smoothly than the C2. The C3S is for all types of pour-over, while the C3 ESP has finer adjustment increments designed for espresso.
C5 and C5 ESP: The newest and largest
42 mm burrs with an integrated grinding core and an external adjustment dial with a visible scale, so you can set the grind without taking the grinder apart. The ESP version has a finer scale for espresso.
Who each grinder is for
Suitability level for each brewing method
Very important before you order
If you want the grinder for espresso only, choose an ESP version because its adjustment increments are finer, allowing you to reach the fine grind your espresso machine needs. If you want one grinder for everything, the standard C3S or C5 covers pour-over, French press, and basic espresso. All versions grind whole beans only, and the capacity per use is enough for one or two cups.
Three settings cover most of your needs
Medium-fine grind for pour-over
Start from zero (with the burrs closed) and open to around 18 to 22 clicks on the C2S and C3S. On the C5, set the dial to the middle of the scale. If the cup tastes sour, go two clicks finer; if it tastes bitter, go coarser.
Fine grind for espresso
On ESP versions, open to around 8 to 12 clicks from zero. On the C5 ESP, use the first third of the scale. The target is a 36-gram shot in 25 to 30 seconds from 18 grams of coffee, adjusting by one click each time.
Coarse grind for French press
Open to around 26 to 30 clicks on the C2S and C3S, or use the final third of the scale on the C5. The coarse grind prevents sediment in the cup and gives you a clean four-minute steep.

Questions people ask before ordering
What’s the difference between the C3S and C3 ESP?
They have the same burrs and body; the difference is in the adjustment increments. The ESP has finer and more numerous increments between clicks, allowing you to reach the fine grind an espresso machine needs with greater precision. If you don’t have an espresso machine, the C3S is enough.
Is it really suitable for espresso?
Yes, the ESP versions are suitable for home espresso machines and pressure-brewing machines. The standard versions can produce basic espresso, but with fewer adjustment increments.
How long does it take to grind one cup?
About 20 to 40 seconds for one cup, depending on the grind size and model. The C3 and C5 are faster than the C2 thanks to their upgraded burrs.
What’s the difference between the C5 and the others?
It has larger 42 mm burrs instead of 38 mm, plus an external adjustment dial with a visible scale that you can set without taking the grinder apart. This is more convenient for anyone who switches between espresso and pour-over daily.
How do I clean it?
Remove the lower burr and clean it with the included brush and blower once a week; no water is needed. Grinding a small amount of rice once a month removes accumulated oils.
Does the grinder come with a warranty?
Yes, every genuine Timemore grinder comes with Rafaa’s Golden Authenticity Guarantee, along with free shipping.
